Who we are

Empire Capital is a research-led financial and corporate advisory firm based in Dhaka, Bangladesh. We are responsible for the personal information collected through this website. You can reach us about privacy at contact@empirecapitalbd.com.

Information we collect

When you create a member account

We collect your full name, email address, phone number, organisation, designation, country, the research topics you choose, whether you would like newsletters, whether you are an existing investor, and the date you accepted this policy and our Terms of Use. If you register with a password, we store it only in a securely hashed form that we cannot read.

When you continue with Google

With your permission, Google shares your name, email address, whether that email address is verified, your profile picture and a Google account identifier. See Google sign-in below.

When you request a consultation

We collect your name, email address, phone number, organisation if you provide it, the area you would like to discuss, your preferred way to talk, any message you write, and your consent to be contacted about the request.

When you use the website

To keep accounts secure and prevent abuse, we record sign-in sessions, the type of browser used, sign-ins and account changes, and a one-way hash of your network (IP) address rather than the address itself. When you reset or change a password, we send a one-time code and store only a protected hash of it.

We do not use advertising or analytics trackers, and we do not build marketing profiles from your browsing.

How we use information

• To create and manage your member account and give you access to member research.
• To review and respond to consultation requests and match you with the right advisory team.
• To send service emails, such as welcome messages, consultation confirmations, verification codes and notices that your password changed.
• To send newsletters and research updates, only if you have chosen to receive them.
• To protect the website and our members, including limiting repeated sign-in, registration and password attempts.
• To understand which research topics interest our members so we can improve our work.
• To meet legal, regulatory and record-keeping obligations.

Google sign-in

If you choose “Continue with Google”, we use the information Google shares only to create your Empire Capital account, sign you in and contact you about your account. We do not receive your Google password, and we do not access your contacts, files, email or any other Google data.

We do not sell Google user data, use it for advertising, or transfer it to others except to the service providers that help us run this website, or where the law requires. Our use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

You can remove Empire Capital's access at any time from your Google Account under Security, then Third-party apps and services. To delete the account itself, contact us as described below.

Cookies

We use only the cookies needed for the website to work securely: a session cookie that keeps you signed in, and short-lived cookies that protect sign-in forms and complete sign-in with Google. We do not use advertising, analytics or third-party tracking cookies. If you block these cookies, you can still read public pages but you will not be able to sign in.

How information is shared

We do not sell or rent personal information. We share it only as needed:

• Service providers that host the website and database and deliver our emails, who may use the information only to provide those services to us.
• Google, when you choose to sign in with Google.
• Authorities or other parties where required by law, regulation or legal process, or where needed to protect the rights, safety and security of Empire Capital, our members or others.

Our service providers may process information outside Bangladesh. Where they do, we expect them to protect it to the standard described in this policy.

How long we keep information

• Member accounts are kept while your account is active and deleted when you ask us to close it, unless the law requires us to keep certain records.
• Consultation requests are kept for as long as needed to respond, follow up and maintain appropriate business records.
• Password codes expire after 10 minutes and cannot be used again.
• Security records are kept for as long as they are useful to protect the website.
• Backups are deleted on a rolling schedule, with the oldest copies kept for up to about six months.

Security

We protect personal information with encrypted connections, hashed passwords and codes, restricted staff access, and the ability to sign out other sessions when a password changes. No website can be completely secure, so please keep your password private and tell us promptly if you think your account has been misused.

Your choices and rights

• You can view and update your profile, research interests and newsletter preference in My Account.
• You can ask us for a copy of the personal information we hold about you, or ask us to correct or delete it.
• You can withdraw consent to newsletters or to being contacted about a consultation at any time.

To make a request, email contact@empirecapitalbd.com from the address linked to your account. We may need to confirm your identity before acting, and we will respond within a reasonable time.

Children

This website and our services are intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe a child has given us information, contact us and we will delete it.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as our services or legal obligations change. The date at the top of this page shows when it was last updated. If a change significantly affects how we use your information, we will let members know by email or on the website.
